Review Scores Explained

When giving a score to a game, we ask staff and contributing reviewers at GamersOnly Network to use the following ten-point scale (1 to 10). Keep in mind though, a number can only say so much. One would need to read the actual review to get a clearer picture of the ins and outs of the game.

Scores Explained

10/10 – Legendary
Hands-down the product of gaming god developers. Expectional and at the gaming peak. It won’t get better than this for a long time.

9/10 – Must Play
This is one of the better games out now for its genre and system. You will end up spending many long and enjoyable hours playing this amazing game.

8/10 –Worth a Buy
This one may not be the best game out there, but definitely worth a buy. This game leaves you with the need to go back and play some more…and some more…and some more.

7/10 – Good
Nothing new with this game, but the developers still did a decent job putting together a game with a mix of exciting gameplay, appealing graphics, and entertaining characters.

6/10 – Just Above Average
The game lacks some things, may have a few minor bugs, or is repetitive in its story/action. It shows potential and may get better with a few patches and gameplay upgrades.

5/10 – Passable
Enjoyable for only a very short time. Falls into the demo-only category. This is an okay game, with okay graphics and okay gameplay. But what gamer wants to settle for just okay?

4/10 – Poor
Perhaps the developers fell into a Rip Van Winkle sleep and the first year interns were left to finish the game with no management? Who knows…but something definitely went wrong in the development stage of this game.

3/10 – WTF?
This one will leave you saying “WTF?” and trying to think of a way to get your cash back. Avoid it.

2/10 – Terrible
Major bugs, poor design and severe glitches. The game is nearly unplayable and if you actually finish this severely flawed game, you’re a very patient gamer.

1/10 – Unforgivably Bad
On top of all the technical flaws, the game has an awful plot, horrible gameplay, bad graphics, is dull and predictable. How’d it get approved for production? That money could have gone towards a charity!

0/10 – Disaster
The developers should have stopped at the storyboard…and then burned the storyboard so no one would ever see the origins of this game.
